India’s premiere content company, the Vikram Malhotra-led Abundantia Entertainment has consistently been in the news for its highly-rated,successful filmslike Jalsa, Sherni, Chhorii, Shakuntala Devi and the recent Ram Setu, as well as for blockbuster series like Breathe: Into The Shadows. As it looks to ramp up its exciting slate of films and series, Abundantia Entertainment today announced that it has appointed seasoned Executive Producers, Smriti Jain and Gaurav Mishra, to co-lead the production function across the company.
Smriti Jain and Gaurav Mishra, co-founders of the prolific Skywalk Films, have been Executive Producers for over a decade and have led production operations for leading feature films such as Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, A Death in the Gunj, Photograph, Stree, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, Rocketry - The Nambi Effect, along with the critically acclaimed Sherni and the recent Ram Setu, featuring superstar Akshay Kumar.
In this new role, Smriti and Gaurav will lead all production operations and work directly with Vikram Malhotra, Founder and CEO of Abundantia Entertainment. Additionally, Skywalk Films continues to operate as an independent entity and enters into a strategic first-look deal with Abundantia Entertainment where Abundantia Entertainment will endeavour to produce all development work under Skywalk.
In a further boost to the Creative function at the company, it has announced a new structure where existing leads – Eesha Danait, Gaurav Seth and Ritwick Maheshwari – will now head their respective slates and report directly to Vikram Malhotra.
Abundantia Entertainment has an exciting slate of films and shows in development which includes films with talented directors such as Jai Mehta (Scam: 1992) and Mayank Sharma (Breathe) as well as series like the ‘The End’ - marking the series debut of superstar Akshay Kumar, a multi-season crime drama based on the bestselling ‘Rita Ferreira’ books, remake of the Israeli hit YA series, ‘The Missing’ and ‘The Hood’ and the book adaptation of the bestseller, ‘Flawed – the Nirav Modi saga’.
